Original 60's Aluminum Torque Thrust wheels by American Racing came in 5 sizes. 14 x 6" 7" - 15 x 6" 7" & 8.5"

When the TTO line was came to be I spent some time on the phone with Hoppy Hopkins who is charge of Americans Vintage wheel deptment at American Racing.
I tried to get the sizes made today that had not been made in the past as there was a big need. There are still a lot of guys that just want the original wheels not the newer versions.
It did not happen because of bean counters and the fact that car people did not work at American any longer.
When the TTO came to be I knew the 15x5 was going to be a new project for me.
With a computerized Bridgeport I am now able to make all the changes to the New TTO 15x5 and convert it to look just like the " Original Torque Thrust " wheel.
The original wheel ( at least at my place ) is now SIX sizes with a 15x5 that has 2 & 3/4" back space and will clear disc brakes.
A 5" wheel is 6" wide. take 2 3/4" away and you have 3 1/4" off the brake drum mounting surface. This allows you some tire choices depending on the look you are after.

To make the TTO look just like the Original Torq Thrust wheel I had to start with the center cap.
The old style center cap has a 2 1/8 " screw pattern The new cap is 2 7/32". Then trace outer cap pattern so the center looks correct. I had to  make the section between each spoke look like the original wheel.
I also put the recess between the out lip and the spoke area and remove the machine marks in outer lip.
